A little bit of everything ♪

This is a Papa Cho appreciation post.

Kyuhyun’s father is a man of education, a man in the business of higher learning. He raised his son to pursue rigorous studies, honing his mind for later use, encouraged him to strive for academic excellence. And Kyuhyun grew up meeting his father’s expectations of him, achieving a Math Olympiad title and various other mathematical awards. But as Kyuhyun grew older, he discovered his passion for singing, and wanted nothing more than to audition. However, his father, seeing the logical and analytical world he had created for his son about to be shattered, put his foot down and refused to allow his son to go out for the audition. However, after some time, he amended that if Kyuhyun was able to pass his entrance exams and make it into university, he would allow him to pursue that dream.

And so Kyuhyun did. And he shined. And, just like in his previous area of expertise, Kyuhyun went above and beyond what was expected of him, above and beyond was was believed of him. And on the night Kyuhyun was nearly lost forever, his father acknowledged this, he understood it, and he ensured that Kyuhyun’s voice was not lost so that his dream could remain intact. And if not for his father, Kyuhyun would not be able to be where he is today, would never have been able to sing like he can now.

And today (last week, rather), Kyuhyun’s father and mother watched him and his sister perform in the world his father and never intended him to enter. But watch him, look at his excitement, look at the pride in his eyes, look at him watch and cheer for his son. His father only ever wanted the best for him, had assumed that the most practical way was through education, but after he realized the extent to which Kyuhyun has pursued his dreams, has made a name for himself and is getting along fine in the “real world”, he supported and continues to support him 110%. What you see is the image of a man who is proud of his son. Proud of the man he has become and eager to watch him journey onwards in the path he has chosen, refusing to leave his side.

So.. 감사합니다, 아빠조.. for raising your son the way you did, for allowing him to pursue his dreams and for never wavering in your support. I love you and your family so much, thank you. ;___; <33333
